Clubhouse Class Schedules
Use of the club facilities is a privilege of membership in SGAMS.
Please be prepared to present your membership card when you come in to use the shop or take a class.
Your membership card will be emailed to you at the email address we have on file after dues are received.

Our club offers shop time to its members at a cost of $4.00 per hour or any part of the hour. Classes are open shop with a monitor to provide assistance as needed.In cabbing, participants will learn the basics of cutting, forming, and polishing a simple cabochon.
Faceting is the art of cutting and polishing angled faces on a gemstone; this class is at a cost of $65.00 and the student will cut and polish one round brilliant stone.
Wire wrapping basic class allows you to set precious and semi-precious gemstones into simple metal frameworks made out of copper, silver, gold, and other materials.
Silver smithing The purpose of this class is to teach students the foundational skills to make and finishing jewelry at a novice’s level. This class is suitable for people with limited experience.
Wax casting is a $50.00 class which includes one 3 inch flask, in two sessions, which involve investing spruced trees in preparation for the burnout process and then melting and pouring the chosen type metal into the remaining cavity to produce the cast pieces. Finishing of the cast pieces is minimal and participants are encouraged to attend the Silversmithing class if they wish help in this last stage.
Cab Shop reopening guidelines.
Interested participants must contact the Moderator by the stated deadline for the day they wish to attend.
Please be advised that you must be scheduled for your shop time. If you do not receive permission from your moderator, please do not just show up, for you will be turned away. We must ensure adequate social distancing so only a few members at a time being permitted to attend the Cab Shop session. The moderators will rotate individuals so everyone gets a chance for shop time. We ask for your patience as we develop a schedule that works for everyone.
Silver Smithing Students
For Silver Smithing Students. Joe will provide two days each week Tuesday 6 p.m. till 9 p.m. and Saturday from 1-5 p.m.; because of the limited space in the silver room, only four students will be allowed at each work session.
Casting classes
Once class dates are set. The Corresponding Secretary will send an email blast, notifying members of class availability and asking you to contact Joe directly to sign up for the class.The size of the class is limited to six students The Corresponding Secretary will notify members once classes are full.
