The School Food Advisory (SFA) is a district-wide high school fellowship program embedded within the Student Nutrition Services (SNS) department within San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD).
SFA Fellows work together to research their peers' needs, develop ideas to address the challenges they discover, and test these ideas to improve the school food system and student dining experience.
"I was able to see what was going on behind the scenes of foods being prepared, to how cafeterias were designed in all school locations."
Denny
"I applied because I’m really interested in food systems and wanted to learn more about SNS. I also wanted to see how I could make change in our school lunch program!"
Christy
"I applied to SFA, because I noticed that there was always a negative perception behind school lunch, and I wanted to explore why that was and ways to fix it."
