Computer science is a foundation for every student. Software is everywhere. It’s shaping almost every aspect of how we live our lives. But very few kids are learning how to actually create games, apps and programs. That’s why we’re introducing ours to these critical 21st century skills. This course will build upon the concepts learned last year.
By the end of the year, students will have developed the skills to do the following:
Be good digital citizens
Develop high level critical, logic and problem-solving skills
Code with Blockly, HTML, CSS, Python
Create drawings with code
Design and create webpages
The course is project based. Students will continually work on different projects to help build their skills in coding. The course features puzzles, video lectures as well as familiar characters from popular games. Using a blended learning model, your children are learning with a mix of online, self-guided activities and “unplugged” activities that use no computer at all. This will be a fun, collaborative, and creative course! It’s designed to inspire students to continue learning how technology improves real world relationships, connections, and life.
