6th generation San Franciscan and 4th generation in the same house, Ms. Copeland was born and raised in San Francisco. She attended both public and private schools in the city: Douglas Alternative Elementary, Everett Middle School and Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory. After high school, she went to college at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, earning her BFA in Communications Design. She returned to San Francisco to obtain her Masters of Education at USF and her single subject art credential at SFSU and has been teaching in the SFUSD for the past 13 years.
When she’s not checking out art shows and exhibits, she loves going to garage sales, thrift stores, and flea markets; she furnished her whole apartment from them! Ms Copeland has been a vegetarian for several years and loves to cook and bake, and can frequently be seen at the Alemany Farmers Market. To unwind, she works on drawings for her printmaking class at Ft. Mason, her yo-yo quilt or just lies on the couch watching movies on TCM or Bob's Burgers with her kitty, Tabi.
