In order for us to have productive and peaceful time in technology class please follow these expecations:
Respectful attitude towards all students and teacher is expected at all times. There will be no arguments about assignments or procedures.
Utmost care should be taken with the computer lab equipment. No icons/settings will be changed on the desktops. Do not switch keyboards/mice as they are paired with a particular desktop
Upon arrival to class, place your books neatly on the floor in the hallway against the wall of the computer lab
You will need your headphones most of the days; have them ready as you line up outside the computer lab
When the teacher gives you permission, enter the lab in a quiet manner (walking, no loud conversations, hands to yourself)
Proceed to your assigned computer station
You may log in into Google Classroom or the current project while waiting for the teacher to come in
When the teacher is in front of class and asks for your attention, you will stand by your stations (headphones off; hands off the computers) to begin class with prayer
After prayer the teacher will give you relevant instructions concerning the class and you may start working
If at any time teacher asks for class attention, you will take off the headphones, remove your hands off the device and turn your body towards the teacher
We will be working on the desktops rather than on the Chromebooks
Sometimes you will work individually and sometimes with groups/partners
Collaboration and helping each other is welcomed as long as coversations stay quiet and on task
There will be no music streaming during the class
Stay on task; if help is needed ask other students for help. If further assistance is needed ask the teacher
We will have no homework unless you are behind in your work and will have to complete it at home
You will get two grades a week. There are two grade categories: classwork and projects, each weighted at 50%. If you are on task and follow instructions/procedures, your classwork grade will be a 100. Project grades will be determined by actual results of what you created/learned and you will be informed about the criteria at the start of the project
If you are not following the procedures/expectaions, you will receive a warning. If the undesirable behavior continues, you will be asked to leave your computer station and sit at the table in the middle of the lab. Such situations will affect your conduct grade and possibly your classwork grade.
At the end of the class please remember to log out of Google Classroom. Click on the home page symbol (do not shut down computer). Put the keyboard neatly under the monitor and the mouse to the right of the keyboard
Upon permission from the teacher, quietly leave the lab to pick up your books and transition to your next class
