SF Day uses the UDL framework to proactively design environments and instruction based on predictable, systematic learner variability. By naming rigorous goals, infusing flexible access and supportive scaffolds into lessons, UDL lesson design works for all learners. As an inspired learning community we know that this is not a recipe approach. It takes trained, collaborative teams that honor the neuroscience regarding learner variability among the broad range of our learners. The UDL framework offers a lens for the delivery of our excellent curriculum and instruction that demonstrates learner variability as a strength to be leveraged, not a challenge to overcome.
