Social Network Analysis is the systematic examination of human networks using sociological principles, graph theory and computational statistics. The videos in this course offer a brief introduction to SNA concepts and outline the process of conducting a relational survey. A relational survey is a tool that provides a “snapshot” of a human network at a given point in time and can be used to understand informal structures within organizations, ‘key players’ in a consortium, influencers among a group of friends and much more. It is one of many tools for collecting data to which SNA can be applied. This course is designed for peacebuilders with intermediate or advanced data analysis experience, but all experience levels are welcome.
