Lost, Damaged, or Stolen Immigration Documents:
Passport or Visa
Replacement of a lost, stolen, or damaged passport or visa will require multiple steps, including filing a police report, notifying your country’s Embassy in the U.S. (for passport), and/or notifying the U.S. Embassy which issued your U.S. visa (for U.S. Visa) – See Dept. of State’s Page: “Lost and Stolen Passports, Visas, and Arrival/Departure Records”
If the loss, damage, or theft of your passport or visa occurs during international travel, call ISSD at 954-637-2294 during normal office hours (Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time). If outside of regular office hours, call the SFBC Front Desk at 954-637-2292 and the receptionist will connect you with an ISSD staff member.

I-20
Replacement of an I-20 is fairly straightforward. ISSD can assist you to replace your I-20. Please submit an I-20 Update Request Form to issd@sfbc.edu.
F-1/F-2 I-20s will be signed and sent as electronic scans per guidance from the Department of Homeland Security Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). Once printed and signed by you, they can be used for all official purposes, including visa applications and renewals, entry to the U.S., applications for OPT, etc. There is no need for the original, physical I-20.

If you experience an immigration-related emergency, such as:
Visit by government officer at home or on campus
Detainment at U.S. Port of Entry such as an airport or land crossing
Threat of deportation
Do not sign anything. Politely ask if you can call SFBC International Student Services Department or your home country’s consulate in the U.S.

Criminal activity
Missing persons
Suicidal thoughts
