The Athletic Placement Process is a program for evaluating 8th grade student-athletes readiness for athletic competition by evaluating their physical maturity, fitness, and skill level. Please note that APP is not used to fill roster spots. The varsity coach of each sport will recommend students for APP. There are 4 additional steps in the process:
Step 1: The Director of Athletics will speak to the recommended student-athletes parents about physical/emotional readiness AND the commitment necessary to play a high school sport. If the child's parents agree to the above prerequisites. They will complete the parent permission form and return it to the Athletic office.
Step 2: Tanner Level Evaluation - Students will be evaluated by the Sewanhaka District doctor. If the student meets the Tanner requirements, they will move onto Step 3.
Step 3: Physical Fitness Test - The student-athlete must pass four out of five tests to be eligible to tryout for their chosen sport
