University Archivist

Casey Bowser, MA, CA

In March of 2022, Casey began working as the University Archivist for Seton Hill University. She also works as the Archivist for the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill. She recently served a three-year term as VP/President/Past-President of Archivists for Congregations of Women Religious, a national organization which assists lay and religious archivists in the management, interpretation, and preservation of Catholic sisters and nuns in the U.S. and worldwide. Additionally, Casey is a member of the Mission and Heritage Committee for Seton Heritage Ministries/The National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and assists the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) as a grant reviewer. She also serves as an adjunct in the History Department at St. Vincent College and is co-author of Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill (2019), a pictorial history of the congregation. She currently serves on the boards of the Westmoreland Historical Society and the Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor.

 

She earned her B.A. in History and Public History at St. Vincent College and an M.A. in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University. Casey earned Certified Archivist credentials in 2019. Prior to her work in archives, Casey worked at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art in Greensburg, PA.
