Religion: We Believe: God Loves Us Students learn the Catholic faith and how to be disciples of Jesus through project disciple activities, liturgical lessons, and lives of the saints.
Take home tests on Thursday nights.
Accelerated Reader
Students will be Star tested to determine their reading level. There will be a quarterly point goal. Quarterly rewards given if goal is met.

Amplify / Boost Reading: A digital program designed to support students’ reading skills. The goal is to decrease the number of students at risk of not reaching reading grade level goals: phonics, decoding, fluency, comprehension.
30 minutes three times a week in class.
Math: Go Math is engaging and interactive with online activities and use of manipulatives.
A homework sheet will go home most nights after each lesson which will review the new skills taught as well as review past skills learned.
A test on skills learned will be given each week and there will also be a chapter test at the end of each chapter.
Reading: McGraw Hill Wonders
Wonders empowers readers and writers to take an active role in learning and exploration, and expand their world through literacy.
Interactive Online Portal for games and read alouds.
Daily routines include decoding, dictation and handwriting.
Student books are used in class daily and sent home for practice when there is a story to read.

3 weeks of Smart Start - Review key foundational skills taught in kindergarten.
6 Units - 5 weeks in each unit
Weekly tests ~ given on Friday ~ grammar skills, comprehension, cold read, vocabulary, high frequency words, etc. ~ we read parts and they read parts, by the third quarter they are reading the test on their own.
Spelling tests on memory and pattern words.
Social Studies: Weekly Studies
A student-friendly core Social Studies curriculum organized thematically to the strands of civics and government, geography, economics, and history.

Electives
Your child will participate in electives four times a week. Your child will participate in P.E, Art, Religion / Atrium, Library, and Music once a week each and rotation on Friday.
