Competition Guidelines
1.0 Participants
1.1 Age Limit
The competition is open to all local and international students aged 13 -17 years.
1.2 Local Participants:
Each school can only submit ONE research project in a team (2 students per team)
Each participant will be charged RM 75.00 (RM 150.00 per team)
1.3 International Participants:
Each school may submit ONE research project in a team (2 students per team)
International participants are encouraged to participate with more than one project.
(Each project must be represented by a team) Each participant will be charged
USD 50 (RM 210.00) / USD 100 (RM 420.00) per team.
2.0 Competition
2.1 Compulsory for every team to send:
Abstract
Video Project Presentation
2.2 Competition is divided into 2 rounds:
Preliminary round: Video Project Presentation Adjudication (10 videos will be shortlisted for the final round)
Final round: Q&A session (For shortlisted teams to select the winners)
2.3 Fields contested:
Track A: Engineering (Engineering Invention)
Track B: Pure Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Mathematics)
Track C: Environmental Science (Innovation)
2.4 Awards
The judges will decide on the winners of the project presentation and medals will be
awarded in the following proportion:
GOLD: 15%
SILVER: 30%
BRONZE: 55%
E-certificates of achievement will be awarded to the winners.
E-certificates of participation will be awarded to all participants.
2.5 Special Awards
A SPECIAL AWARD will also be given to deserving research work for each category to
highlight the special merits of the project at the recommendation of the judges.
2.6 Judges
The judges will be selected from 2 major sectors; a judge from the Ministry of Education
and judges from IPTA/IPTS
3.0 Guideline For Abstracts
3.1 Abstracts must be sent with registration

4.0 Guideline For Video Presentation
4.1 All teams must present their project through a video presentation.
4.2 Content of Video

4.3 Video Submission
The video presentation must be sent after a letter of acceptance has been
received by the participants.
All video presentations must be sent on or by 27 August 2022.Participants who do not
send the video presentation, will be eliminated from the competition.

4.4 The video presentation must be:
clear and without any distracting background noise (please use microphones)
all participants in the team must be present in their video presentation.
participants must show the prototype (if any) during the video presentation.
not more than 10 minutes.
all participants must be in their school uniform/formal attire.
4.5 The committee reserves the right to request new video submission if the initial
submission does not meet the requirements stated.
4.6 All video(link) must be sent via Video Submission form.
5.0 Guideline For Final Round (Live Q & A Session)
5.1 10 best video presentations for each track will be selected for the final round
(Q & A session). The Q & A session will be conducted via Microsoft TEAMs.
5.2 Each session will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
5.3 Participants must be ready for the Q & A session with the judges.
5.4 Participants must show the prototype during the session.
5.5 During the session, participants must briefly introduce the product within 2 minutes
before the Q & A session with the judges.
5.6 Participants are advised to use a quiet room during the presentations to avoid
background noise.
5.7 If possible, wear headphones with built-in microphones during Q & A session. If you
are not using
headphones, you are advised to stay close to the phone camera/laptop.
5.8 Please ensure a stable internet line to avoid interruptions during the Q & A session.
The committee is not responsible for any interruption or loss of connection during
the session.
