Mark Making Emotions

Positive Emotions: Amused, Daring, Fascinating

Positive Mark Making

For this assignment, we were asked to choose six emotions, three positive and three negative emotions. These are my positive mark making emotions. I choose Amused, Daring and Fascinating. I found it challenging to just let loose in this assignment and experiment with the ink to express my emotions. I really enjoyed using different color values with black ink because it made my marks making stand out and look different. While I loved using this ink to express our emotions, I hated the mess and stain that it left!

Negative Emotions: Lonely, Guilty, Miserable

Negative Mark Making

For this assignment, we used black ink in order to mark our emotions. We were asked to choose three negative emotions from a emotion wheel. My negative emotions are Lonely, Guilty, and Miserable. One common mark that we see in my mark making is a circle surrounded in lines or scribbles. A lot of times I feel like these emotions are always trying to reach me or already have. My favorite part about mark making was just experimenting with ink but using our emotions. A lot of times there was a certain element of surprise while mark making, which I really enjoyed.
