Since its founding, the State of Israel, a key extension of American imperialism, has maintained a system of institutionalized segregation and discrimination constituting apartheid targeting Palestinians, particularly in the Israeli-occupied Palestinian Territories. Consequently, Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS), an international movement supporting economic and political pressure on Israel, emerged to pressure Israel to align with international law and human rights standards. The movement has only intensified since the onset of Israel's genocide in Gaza, widely recognized by numerous organizations and genocide scholars.
