Founded in 2019 the SENIAC board has has various members build it into what it is today. We are exceptionally thankful to everyone who volunteers their time to help make Cambodia a more inclusive place. Meet and learn more about our board members below:
Chapter Co-Chair
Lex Hamilton has lived in Cambodia since 2015 and is passionate about helping inclusion grow within the country.
She is a qualified early years educator and special educational needs coordinator from the UK. She is one of the founding members of SENIAC and has been chair since its start in 2019.
Lex currently teaches early years at The International School of Phnom Penh (ISPP). As Co-chair of SENIA Cambodia she works to provide inclusion based professional development and network professionals.
She is also Director of Marketing for SENIA International.
Along with leading workshops on inclusion and trauma informed education, she also helps schools and organisations find, set up and develop support for students with additional needs.
Lex helped set up and run the Cambodia International Educator's Conference (CEIC) and chaired the committee at ISPP to bring the 2025 SENIA conference to Cambodia
Chapter Co-Chair
Kate moved to Phnom Penh in 2018, from her hometown of Manchester, UK.
She began her career teaching in primary schools, before discovering a passion for helping children with diverse needs. Kate is on a mission to raise positive awareness of special educational needs and disabilities. She is a founding member of SENIAC and currently serves as Co-Chair.
Board Secretary
Jenn McCoy is an experienced Inclusion teacher who has dedicated her career to working with neurodivergent students in diverse school settings and countries. With a 24-year tenure in education, she has contributed her expertise in Canada, China, and currently in Cambodia. Jenn is committed to supporting learners and educators in inclusive education environments. She fosters an inclusive learning atmosphere where all students can benefit from each other's unique perspectives, thereby cultivating a deeper understanding of both similarities and differences that ultimately strengthen relationships.
Jenn is thrilled to become a part of SENIAC and eagerly anticipates collaborating with schools and organizations across Cambodia to further develop the community dedicated to supporting students and adults with neurodivergence. Together, working towards creating an inclusive society that embraces and empowers individuals with diverse learning needs.
Newsletter and Member Coordinator
Jomar Conde hails from a humble background in Bacon District, Sorsogon City, Philippines. He is a licensed educator with a degree in education, his academic accolades includes dean's list award and debater of the year award.
With a rich and diverse career spanning various educational settings, including international schools, language schools, universities, and an NGO, Jomar has held notable leadership roles. Notably, he served as program coordinator at the CIA First Language Center and co-founded and directed a small learning center. Currently, he passionately holds the position of Deputy Campus Director for Academics at the Aii Language Center Mao Tse Tong Campus.
Jomar involves himself professionally in many areas around the city, and often speaks at educational conferences and events.
His motto as a SENIA Board Member is “You don’t have to be an expert to be an Advocate”
Events Coordinator
Linda Clarence works as an early years educator at CIS, and has over 12 years of international experience. She is deeply passionate about her job and is committed to nurturing children with tenderness and love. Linda believes in being warm and genuine to gain the trust of the students, whilst creating a safe and supportive environment for their learning. Her enthusiasm for teaching this age group stems from her dedication to creating exciting learning experiences that spark curiosity and foster growth.
Outside of work, Linda enjoys pursuing various hobbies including reading, sewing, cooking, singing, and traveling. She finds joy in exploring new recipes, creating beautiful crafts, and immersing herself in music.
Her favorite quote, by Nelson Mandela, is "Courage is not the absence of fear - it's inspiring others to move beyond it." This quote serves as a constant reminder of the importance of resilience and determination in overcoming challenges and inspiring others to do the same.
Events Coordinator
Noreen, a dedicated special education professional with an 8-year teaching career, is an inclusive education advocate who passionately empowers children with special needs. With a degree in special education, she crafts engaging, hands-on learning experiences through her love for arts and crafts, fostering a nurturing environment for all her students to thrive.
Teacher Rep Coordinator
Angela moved to Cambodia in 2024 to join the Canadian International School of Phnom Penh. With over 20 years in education, she’s gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise across diverse learning environments. Her international experience includes teaching and leadership roles in the USA, Australia, Bhutan, Indonesia, and now Cambodia. Throughout her career, Angela has supported students from early childhood through to university, designing tailored educational programs that promote both academic growth and social-emotional well-being.
Angela’s initial career focused on education for students with severe disabilities, which grew to a passion to empower all learners to succeed. She is committed to inclusive education and to meeting the individual learning and welfare needs of every student.
Parent Support Coordinator
Takayo is a Learning Diversity Specialist at the International School of Phnom Penh. She holds a Master of Teaching from the University of Virginia and a Master of Education from The College of New Jersey. As a Third Culture Kid, she is passionate about fostering inclusive classroom environments where every student feels valued. She is a Dyslexia 101 Workshop facilitator through the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) and actively researches and delves deep into ADHD and Dyslexia to better support neurodiverse learners.
Outside of her professional pursuits, she enjoys traveling, exploring wellness practices, and studying nutrition
Social Media Manager
Dania is an experienced educator, early years specialist, and certified parent coach, currently serving as the Early Years Coordinator and Kindergarten Teacher at Rawdat Al Maaref Schools and College in Amman, Jordan. With over ten years of experience, she is passionate about working with young learners, valuing their diverse perspectives, and empowering children to reach their full potential.
Dania is deeply committed to lifelong learning, reflected in her dedication to professional development and the inspiring quote, "I am still learning." She views every challenge as an opportunity for growth, for both her students and herself.
Outside of school, Dania is an active community volunteer, contributing to initiatives that empower students. She enjoys reading, reflective writing, and traveling the world, skillfully integrating these rich cultural experiences into her teaching to create inclusive and diverse learning spaces. She is proud to collaborate with outstanding educators as part of SENIA Cambodia, dedicated to making a tangible difference in students' lives.
