We block access to Bluetooth to ensure Apple Classroom Management so a wired keyboard is the only way a keyboard will work.
We have a class set for in the classroom so no need to bring one to school but if you feel your son needs one at home, we recommend the Logitech Lightning Keyboard.
Stylus
Stylus
The Apple Pencil 1st Gen, is compatible with your son's iPad.
The Stylus is not necessary and should not be brought to school since they are fragile and could get lost easily.
