AR

Make printed material come to life

Yearbooks or school magazines

Using an app like HP Reveal to layer videos linked to images in a yearbooks or school publications.

We did this with our alumni magazine if you look at page 2, you will see instructions on how to get started.

Interactive Book Reports

Another great idea, is to distribute books to students from the library and have them create a video book report, then link the cover of the book to be the trigger with the video report.

"Dragons Art Project"

Another cool project we did was in art, a bit bigger in scope but we combined art, writing, green screen and AR to deliver an amazing product. Check out the how to video. Here is a write up to explain it all.

VR

School Tour

You can create school tours in many ways:

  • Using Google Poly Creator Tour to capture scenes from around the school and add descriptions and audio narration. Check out the example
  • Using a 360 Camera to film a walking tour around your school.

Field Trip

Using tools like Google Expeditions gives you instant access to hundreds of potential field trip experiences,

Can't find the one you want, by using Google Poly Creator Tour, you can create your own by taking scenes from Google Street view or your own 360 photos.

Immersive VR experiences like Solar System, Google Earth VR and The Body VR allows you to go even further.

Art

  • Google Arts and Culture allows you to follow great artists, see their art, visit galleries, an excellent source of material when researching many aspects of art such as Artists , Art Eras, Art Styles, Artifacts, etc...
  • Another idea can be achieved in two ways, either filming with a 360 camera or taking a photo and adding audio cues in Google Poly Creator Tour or Story Spheres. You install around the camera a few pieces of art, a 360 image will capture everything around the camera. You then have each student explain his inspiration and technique. It looks great, very informative and interactive.
