Our school counseling advisory council meets monthly to make decisions regarding students' educational experience, well being, and career consulting opportunities. Our council is diverse and helps to ensure equal opportunities for all students. Every race, gender, grade level, and socioeconomic status is represented. Freshmen Counselor
Ms. Gaines helps freshmen transition from middle to high school. She assists them in deciding their first classes in high school based on test scores, GPA, and interests.
Sophomore Counselor
Mrs. Heidler makes sure students stay on track with academics and helps place students in courses that work for them, such as dual enrollment or regular education courses.
Career Counselor
Ms. Lynch works with students on career path and workforce options for the future, taking into account their skills and interests and discussing classes related to their preferred paths.
Junior Counselor
Ms. Tate works with students to discuss college options, prepares and schedules ACT and other standardized tests for students.
Senior Counselor
Ms. Walker works with our senior class to submit college applications, prepare to go straight to work after graduation and more.
Administrator
Mrs. Garcia is an assistant principal dedicated to giving all students the best high school experience possible. She keeps track of disciplinary activities and lessons that improve student behavior, finds out what works best and how we can implement that in our school.
School Board Member
Mr. Stevenson is an active member of our districts school board who advocates for student's post secondary opportunities. He knows there is a place out there for every student, and will do what it takes to ensure every student follows the path to success despite life's circumstances.
Local Marriage, Couple, and Family Counselor
Mr. Benson is a local counselor who consults with our school counselors regarding family conflicts and occasionally provides referral services. He gives school counselors activities, lesson plan ideas, and support to ensure competence and success in helping our students.
Parent of a Freshmen
Mr. Andrews gives feedback from a parent's perspective. Being the parent of a freshman Knight and band student, Mr. Andrews provides insight on extracurricular activities and the experiences of incoming freshmen.
Parent of a Sophomore
Mrs. Jacobs is the mother of a sophomore Knight and helps us to understand struggles students may have at home academically with homework assignments and other activities.
Parent of a Junior
Mr. Matthews is a father of a junior and helps us keep track of college visits and tours, as well as career information, allowing students to get early exposure to potential future paths.
Parent of a Senior
Mrs. Smith is the parent of a senior on the cheer leading squad. She helps plan awards night and other events that highlight student achievement, as well as college signing days. She is an excellent decorator!
IEP Coordinator
Mrs. Johnson is an advocate for our students with special needs who works with counselors to provide the best experiences for students.
ELL Instructor
Mrs. Jones leads our academic support program for English Language Learners, as well as works with the school district in implementing new instructional plans for ELL students.
