Apprenticeship Mini-Guide

Apprenticeships are a great mix of hands-on learning in the workplace and theory learned with us at Wakefield College to give you the practical skills and knowledge you’ll need to thrive in the working world.

We work with a variety of different employers, ranging from small to large who offer great opportunities to ‘earn while you learn’.

As an apprentice, you’ll work for an employer, and you will earn a wage.  The minimum wage for an apprentice is £5.28 per hour but wages will vary as there are many employers who are willing to pay more than the minimum.

The mini-guide on the right has been put together to allow you to learn more more apprenticeships. You can also view a list of apprenticeship courses here.

Apprenticeship Opportunities - The Heart of Yorkshire Education Group

The Apprenticeship Hub

On an apprenticeship you’ll be in paid employment while studying for a formal qualification. You’ll spend all or the majority of your time in the workplace and some time or perhaps none at all within College. By the end of your apprenticeship you should have gained the skills and knowledge needed to either succeed in your chosen career, or to progress onto the next apprenticeship level.

View the Apprenticeship directory on the right or click here to visit the hub.
