Our warm up routine:
Cross crawls (20x) This exercise should be done slowly
Jumping Jacks (10x) Some kids have difficultly with this exercise. Verbal prompts that I give them: 1) Stand like a stick 2) Jump to a star 3) Back to a stick.
Tongs Have your child pick up 10-15 cotton balls with tongs and place the cotton balls on a plate. Place the plate on the opposite side of the arm that he/she is using.
Penny Flipping (2-3x) Place 10 pennies with the heads facing up. Have them flip the pennies with only their thumb and index finger. The remaining fingers should be tucked. If they have difficulty maintaining their fingers tucked, have them hold a cotton ball or something small.
