Dear Preschool Parents,
I hope that everyone is staying healthy and finding ways to manage life and find balance during this very difficult time. I know we can all get through this if we are patient and follow recommended protocols from our healthcare experts.
I am attaching a fine motor program for you to practice with your child while we are on an extended break due to the current crisis. I have provided a list of exercises with materials that you may be able to find easily around your home or pick up in the drug store or grocery store. Please feel free to adjust the materials to suit your needs. Play-dough can be made at home: https://www.iheartnaptime.net/play-dough-recipe/
I have also attached sensory information and handouts for sensory activities that you can do at home. Hopefully, the weather will allow us to be outside! It is always better to precede fine motor work with gross motor play to help kids focus. Also, allow for movement breaks every 90-120 minutes.
In addition, working on dressing skills when you have time to allow your child autonomy will help increase their independence. I have included some pointers in the attached handouts as well as working on fasteners.
Please do not hesitate to email me with any questions. Stay healthy and I look forward to seeing everyone soon!!
