The International Baccalaureate (IB) promotes authentic assessments in which students have an opportunity to show their understanding and learning in ways they are comfortable with, using various tools and strategies. The PYP Exhibition is one of these assessments. It is also the culminating, collaborative experience in the final year of the PYP. It requires the students to implement the multiple elements of the PYP program: knowledge, skills and understanding, concepts, attitudes and taking action - in creative ways. The students become planners, organizers and at the same time, learners who are responsible for their own learning. It is learning for life. The exhibition is a powerful demonstration of the collaborative effort of the community that has nurtured them through their years in the PYP.
The process began on October 27th, 2020. Students undertook their investigation into areas of personal interest, both individually and with their peers, supported by a TIC (teacher-in-charge) from the PYP 6 teaching team and a mentor(s) from another grade teaching team. Through this PYPX, students have experienced real life situations, in which they have been challenged to plan and carry out action, solve problems, make decisions, work collaboratively in a team, negotiate with other people from different places and practise many other skills that are far more than sitting for a written test.
This G-site is a compilation of their learning stories to share their learning evidence and express their creativity in the current global situation, when everything is virtual.
We welcome you to our PYPX 2020-2021: Every Action Counts.
In Performing Arts, students have constructed dance and musical performances as an expression of this celebration of learning.
Listen to some parents' perspectives and their stories on how they have supported their child throughout the PYP Exhibition process.
Listen to Isabella's, Barry's and William's stories about their successes and challenges they have had during the PYP Exhibition, presented in three languages.
The artworks below are some selected surrealist pieces of art that students created for Visual Arts. Each student has expressed their chosen issue through colors, symbols and images, which are presented in these surrealist drawings and paintings.

I am looking forward to seeing the way in which you combine the many ideas and experiences you have been exposed to over the years and demonstrate authentic learning by developing your own lines of inquiry. I am sure that your enthusiasm and creativity will come to the fore and you will develop an inquiry that has a genuine impact on the wider world. Grade 6 we are so proud of you all, especially the manner in which you have been prepared to take responsibility for your own learning and development. The way in which you have collaborated together to create new understanding provides us all with a model for effective growth and learning. Congratulations on both the journey already taken and for the upcoming exhibition.
I would like to congratulate all PYP 6 students who are completing the PYP Exhibition as a culmination of the learning process in the Primary Years Programme. Being invited as a guest speaker for one group and getting access to the process gives me an insight of how inquiry and engaging the learning process has been. Although it is a virtual learning process, students could still have an optimal learning environment since it accommodates students’ curiosity, differentiation, healthy risk taking, creative solutions, leadership and adaptability, encouragement and self-directed learning. Students could immerse in the planning, contextual learning and all with a clear action tied to a moral mission which is creating a better world.
This is my very first PYP Exhibition and certainly my first virtual one! I’ve been working with one of our students and it’s been a really great experience. I’ve been visiting the groups’ work since the beginning and I can see all the great inquiry that is happening.
I can’t wait to see the culmination of everyone’s great exploring, inquiry and learning.
Well done everyone!!!!
As students of Sekolah Ciputra, you have demonstrated the school’s vision. Most notably throughout this PYP Exhibition process, your resilience in adapting and re-adapting to the current online learning situations and to different learning circumstances, when you have to work with different people: students from other grades/schools, teachers, experts, etc, and to visit places virtually. Actions that you’ve proposed, planned and designed show that you have become participants in our changing global society.
Remember that learning never stops, and that the foundation of learning you’ve continued to build on would be your best tools to become a better person who contributes positive differences to the world. Congratulations on your PYPx: Every Action Counts.
Remote learning will never stop our learning journey! Here we are, at our very first-ever Virtual PYP Exhibition!
This PYP Exhibition will be memorable for students, teachers and parents. Students are demonstrating their enthusiasm for embracing a new method of learning and working! This event, as always, was a journey/milestone for PYP 6, who demonstrated attributes of the IB Learner Profile that they have been developing, as well as their ability to synthesize essential PYP elements — action, concepts, knowledge, and skills — in a collaborative project.
We congratulate our sixth graders not only on their hard work and dedication, but also on their flexibility and how well they shifted to completing their projects remotely with great enthusiasm — and well-deserved pride! Congrats, PYP 6!
This year’s PYP Exhibition will be marked in our school’s history as our first Virtual PYP Exhibition. I’ve been through the process since the beginning of this event, and witnessed most activities done by both students and teachers; therefore I can conclude that everyone has been working very hard and have put their best effort to ensure that this culminating learning experience in PYP is a great success despite all the challenges we have faced due to this online learning situation. Well done, PYP 6 students and all teachers involved in this event and congratulations...You have made history!
“Every Action Accounts”
This tagline is aligned with the concept of international-mindedness that Sekolah Ciputra always aims for. This exhibition has provided a wide range of opportunities for the students to learn on a level beyond the classroom and deepen their understanding of global issues. Through a student-led PYP Exhibition program, students have developed empathy and a sense of responsibility as part of the global community. Although the current situations are very challenging, the PYP 6 students have successfully passed their inquiry journey together with exceptional educators who commit to make it a great success. Proficiat for all the PYP Team, especially to our PYP 6 students.
PYP 6 Exhibition helps a lot with the students’ growth. It helps them to explore further into different learning tools to express their thoughts and learning, to promote the use of technology in education, and it enhances their skills through the process. Just like what we have applied in our daily lives, adapting to the current pandemic. A big round of applause to all PYP6 students, as well as teachers and parents for supporting and completing this amazing project.
