SWIM's co-creation cohorts and experiences for networks

We are more powerful when we work well together.

Co-creating is all about action-based learning. When we create together, the focus is not on putting together a perfect plan, but rather on making progress.

Co-creation allows the sharing of assets and capacities in the creation of ideas that have wide benefits.

The network planning process embeds co-creation from the start. As we work through this process we engage agency leaders and food bank staff in planning and testing.

Co-creation does not stop there, together we will engage the network in identifying the strengths of the network with opportunities to work together to reach more neighbors.

Examples and Tools

We use an activity called Hackathon, a fast work session where network members come together to innovate, co-create, and developed a prototype of a product/process to address a specific challenge or barrier they see present in their community. Hackathon's offer dedicated time for brainstorming problems, listening to others ideas, and getting feedback from a broad network of people.

We often use a Shared Accountability Model as leaders move from silos to shared strategy and action. The shared accountability model creates teams from different departments who determine a shared strategy. These groups meet reguraly and share actions they have done to advance their shared vision. They also have space to ask for partners in their work and share resources.
