Vocabulary: Unit 2 Test is on Weds., 9/17 

• Eighth Graders will typically have a Vocabulary Test every other week, alternating with spelling tests.  The words are listed below.  The definitions can be found in the Vocabulary Workshop book and on the Google Slides Presentations found in Google Classroom.  The presentations will be available after the students have been introduced to the unit words in class.

• It is a good idea for the students to create their own flash cards for studying the words and definitions.  

• I highly recommend using the following sites to learn and review  vocabulary words.  Students will want to select Level C to find the unit that we are currently studying.

Spelling: No spelling this week

Eighth Graders will typically have a Spelling Test every other week, alternating with Vocabulary Tests.  The words, listed below, are taken directly from the Vocabulary Workshop books.  

SPELLING Homework: Students are encouraged to write their words 2 times each before each test for EXTRA/OPTIONAL practice.  If they complete the practice work, they can hand it in on the test day for a bonus point to be added to their spelling test.  

English: Unit 1 Nouns Quiz on Tuesday, 9/16 & AI and Academic Integrity Mini Unit

Grammar:  Students will have a review of Nouns on Monday and take their first grammar quiz on Tuesday.  

AI & Academic Integrity:  Students will learn when and how Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications should be utilized.  They will also learn about plagiarism, citing sources, and academic integrity.
