The kids will be enjoying knitted comfort chickens courtesy of Mr. McCoy's Nana. Students will be able to catch sight of these chickens throughout the school. They were knitted with love and are great reading companions!
For the months of January and February, students are learning about how to navigate our library. They are beginning with an understanding of the difference between fiction and nonfiction, then moving on to understanding how each of these sections are organized: one alphabetically, and one numerically. Older students are then delving into the Dewey Decimal System.

What’s Sora?
The collection of titles in Sora is an extension of Aitken Elementary's physical library, only it’s in an app with 24/7 access to eBooks and audiobooks. It’s convenient for students to check out titles at home with no worry about misplacing a book – these digital titles automatically return at the end of the lending period!
