Why Chromebooks in Education?

Seekonk Public Schools has distributed Chromebooks to students needing devices during school closure and will be deploying devices to all students at Hurley Middle and Seekonk High School. Chromebooks can be easily managed remotely and have a quick start up time in addition to a long battery life.

The Chromebook your child has been issued cannot be altered and based on the design of the Chromebooks, software is not able to be downloaded; the device is truly a web based device.

Chromebooks work well with the Chrome browser system and the G-Suite for Education products we use in Seekonk, which made it the most logical choice of devices for students to use at home
