AmeriCorps is the federal agency for national service and volunteerism in the United States. It is a network of local, state, and national service programs that connect over 70,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet community needs in education, public safety, health, and homeland security. AmeriCorps provides an opportunity to apply your skills and energy toward helping others and strengthening the organizations that make a positive difference in Americans' lives.
The College Corps AmeriCorps Program is hosted by Seed Coalition, a non-profit organization dedicated to bettering our communities through civic and community engagement. Our coalition consists of private, public, and community colleges in the Midwest. Our programming includes educating students through community and civic learning experiences, making an impact in communities through reciprocal partnerships that address community-identified goals, creating partnership opportunities, providing quality professional development, and promoting the importance of the civic mission.

Why Choose College Corps?
Our College Corps AmeriCorps program partners with our organization's member campuses to offer national service opportunities to students. Students typically serve in 300-hour minimum-time or 1700-hour full-time positions over the course of the academic year in one of two tracks: nonprofit career readiness or mentoring. Members in nonprofit career-focused positions gain valuable professional development and hands-on experience at nonprofits that prepare them for their future. Mentoring-focused positions are typically filled by recent grads or upperclassmen who participate in college retention efforts through campus-specific mentoring programs, providing participants with valuable professional development and leadership opportunities.
