The college application process can be daunting, but becoming more familiar with the steps and getting organized will help you get through it! A lot of moving parts go into applying to college— tests, essays, letters of recommendations, transcripts—and each element has a deadline attached. Use these steps below and information to help you along the way.

We recommend applying to 3-5 colleges and universities. It might be helpful to apply to a variety of dream schools, possible schools, and safety schools.

HERE'S AN IDEA TO STAY ORGANIZED!

After you have a list of colleges and universities you want to apply to, create a folder for each school. At the front of each folder, put a checklist of what you will need to do for the application and when it is due.

You can complete an application online directly through each college's website OR you can apply through the Common App.

Each option is fine! Be sure to do your research and make sure your desired college excepts the Common App, if you choose that route.
