Districts use one of several approved Interim Assessment external tools to measure the impact of instruction on student learning. This impact is identified as either status (performance at a point in time) or growth (performance over a specific period of time). The Interim Assessments help inform students of their progress in understanding grade level standards and support teachers in providing effective instruction.
Renaissance Assessments are an online assessment tools for grades K-8 that helps educators evaluate students' reading and math skills. The assessment is adaptive, meaning it adjusts the difficulty of questions based on how well the student answers questions. The questions are designed to measure a student's knowledge and skills in a in specific areas, such as reading comprehension, vocabulary, and algebraic thinking. Kindergarten through 8th grade students take the Renaissance Reading and Math assessments three times a year.
