It can sometimes seem that we are staring into the abyss. But in this time of turmoil, the artists of Second Echo Ensemble [SEE] feel the urgent drive to create anew, addressing the experience of living now – and the necessity of poetry, resilience and humour. This hunger to gather, play and bring to life has led to the creation of a series of remarkable new SEE works that will meet audiences across our 20th anniversary season in 2025.
A bold resurrection of Erik Satie's Dadaist masterpiece celebrating self-determination and the beauty of choosing your own ending.

This milestone season will feature innovative new works that celebrate the unique voices and stories that have defined our journey.
The work will continue challenging perceptions, inspiring audiences, and fostering inclusion through powerful, boundary-pushing art.
SEE continues to build strong communities, generate jobs, reimagine places and build innovative cross-disciplinary collaborations.
Through our programs, presentation partners and advocacy, SEE is demonstrating that diverse regional arts are valued in Tasmania, and also right across the country.
The show delves into themes of cancel culture, personal agency, and absurdity, creating an unpredictable, avant-garde experience.
In a nod to Truman Capote’s iconic 1966 Black and White Ball, audience members are required to dress for the black and white ball and invited to don their own masks to become part of the performance, turning the evening into a mesmerising masquerade where you’ll be both spectator and spectacle. Expect a night of voyeuristic thrills, chaotic beauty, and a sensory experience unlike any other.
Audiences will have the opportunity to choose from three unique seating options, each offering a distinct perspective of the performance.

A commentary on the body as spectacle, audiences are invited to actively stare beyond first impressions and perceived differences. Performed in-person at dozens of locations across the globe and in a 24 hour Zoom performance that accommodates a breathtaking array of people across international time-zones.
SEE will continue its decade-long collaboration with Heidi Latsky Dance travelling from Tasmania to New York in 2025 to present On Display at the United Nations. This project, which started in New York and Hobart in 2015, has expanded to over 200 venues in 87 cities across 22 countries.
