Event Description:
SeaPerch in an innovative underwater robotics program. Cadets will not only work together to build an underwater ROV but they will study potential uses and design a final trials course for their ROVs to compete.
Event Notes:
Sea Perch training is a hands on STEM training where cadets will work in teams to construct a submersible ROV. Teams will consist of structural, mechanical and electrical engineers as well as a project manager. Each engineer will work with others in their field to complete their individual projects and will come together with their team to assemble the finished projects into the completed ROV. Cadets need to be able to work together and handle basic handtools. OFFICERS/STAFF CADETS will arrive on 26 DEC and depart on 03 JAN
Lodging Notes:
Cadets will be staying in barracks and will be expected to maintain appropriate behavior at all times. Cadets will be expected to maintain their spaces. Any cadets who do not behave appropriately in the barracks/heads will be dismissed from the training and it will be the parent's responsibility to arrange travel home.
Travel Notes:
Cadets should arrive by 1100 on 27 DEC and eat lunch before arrival as the first meal will be dinner. Cadets that are flying in should fly into Orlando International Airport NLT 1100 on the 27th and should depart NET 1600 on 02 JAN. Transportation to and from the airport will be provided by travel should NOT be booked until you are approved for the training and communicated with COTC about arrangements. Cadets must not travel on airlines that require them to be picked up and/or dropped off at their gates. Cadets need to be able to traverse the very busy airport to get themselves to a central location (at baggage claim) for meet up. Please message COTC with any questions prior to booking travel!
