The Physical Project

The Requirements for the 8th Grade Project:

• Students must spend a minimum of 25 hours completing the project
• Students must work with a mentor for a minimum of five of the 25 required hours
• The project must be related to the topic on which they focused for the 8th Grade Project paper
• The physical project must fit in to at least one of the eight project categories outlined in the link "Eight 8th Grade Projects Categories"
• Students must demonstrate that they have spent the minimum 25 hours working on the project
• Physical projects should be completed prior to Spring Break unless there is some extenuating circumstances that have been brought to the attention of one of the members of the 8th Grade Team ahead of time
• Students will present their process, reflection, and demonstration of new learning to their peers and teachers
• Students should take photos (even if the photos are somewhat staged) of them executing the project. Additionally, though they do not have to keep a log or journal, it will help taking notes during their experience with the 8th Grade Project.
