Conceptual Idea
The existing site is located near Don Bosco high school on Chandavarkar road. The site is Bhaktiyog Co-operative Housing Society which consist of two C- shaped builtform at back and two bar builtform in front along Chandavarkar road.
As one can see there is a huge ground/open space between two C-shaped buildings and the bar building is secluded from the C- shaped building.
The larger intent of the design was to break down this large open space between C-shaped buildings and maintain the connection and flow of spaces throughout the builtform. The idea was to create smaller intimate courtyard spaces within the builtform which affords various activities of various scale at the same time.
Conceptual Diagrams and Strategies
Large entrances enabling transparency between street and inside also helps in reducing the mass thus making it look lighter
Stepping down the built form towards main road thus making built form lighter and creating multiple terraces which acts as gardens or gathering spaces
Creating void and mass which acts as common gathering spaces.

Plan
Plan shows the two main entrances towards road with further small entrance portals leading way throughout built form.
Formation of various smaller intimate courtyard spaces that affords various activities and temporary events along with constant visual connection with the corridor spaces.
The front part of built form towards Chandavarkar Road becomes the commercial space as it becomes more accessible and gets direct connection with road.
It also acts as bufffer space for internal built form providing security and privacy.
Section
The section shows that the built form goes high along the periphery. The Diagram is such that the builtform is a solid base below whereas it becomes combination of void and mass along with stepped terraces above.
This enables various possibilities of gathering spaces and also form terrace gardens.
Axonometric
This shows how the built form sits within context along with people using different spaces .
The builtform tries to accomodate all age groups in terms of open space and amenities as the open spaces at ground floor helps in carrying out activities such as sports, events festivals.
Also there is a visual connection of these open spaces with corridors which enables the elderly people to pass their time.
Smaller activities such as Evening tea, morning yoga and chit chat sessions can be held in open stepped terraces or semi open spaces within the builtform as required.
Also the idea of open spaces at multiple levels makes it more accessible for people on different levels .
