INSURANCE IS NO LONGER OFFERED ON CHROMEBOOKS.
Starting in school year 2025-26 the district will no longer partner with third party companies to offer students insurance for their Chromebook. Instead the Board voted for a significant reduction for the cost to repair or replace school Chromebooks and accessories.
Please take any broken or malfunctioning chromebooks to the Cove so our Learning Commons Technician can take a look at it. The Chromebook will be either troubleshooted or replaced. If the Chromebook is unable to be immediately fixed you will be given a replacement right away.
If the Chromebook was damaged, a replacement will still be given right away, but a fee will be applied to your account for anything that needs to be replaced. (Typically applies to broken screens or water damage etc.) We kindly ask that you pay for any replacement parts, however you will receive a replacement Chromebook no matter what. Please find more details on the costs down below.
A new stylus or charger costs $20 and can be purchased either online on the EWMS Webstore or in person in the front office. Cash, check, credit card and Apple Pay are all accepted forms of payment. If you you pay for your stylus online, please bring the receipt to the front office and pick it up. If you think your stylus is glitchy or isn't working right, please go to the Cove along with your Chromebook to have them both looked at.
Double-check you have entered the correct details when trying to log on. Sometimes you have to enter your full password and sometimes just your username, without @my.sduhsd.net.
Your username is your last name(s), first initial, and last four numbers of your ID. It should look something like this: jacksonp1234.
*Please note that if you have a longer last name(s), the account name will be abbreviated to 14th character of your last name. For example, if a student's name is Kai Henderson-Fallbrook, and his student ID is 1215678, his user name would be HendersonFallbK5678@my.sduhsd.net
Also make sure you have the letters for your account handle correct. After your username you will need to type @my.sduhsd.net - please make sure this is correct. Students sometimes forget the my. part, muddle the letters SDUHSD, or put .com instead of .net
Always remember to keep a note of your password! If you have forgotten or need to reset your password, you can reset it here. Need help? Check out this video or visit the Learning Commons for help.
First check for Chrome OS updates and restart your Chromebook.
If that doesn't fix the problem, check out this resource to troubleshoot common issues.
Charge your Chromebook. Sometimes it can take up to 10 minutes for your Chromebook to turn back on if it has been sitting for a long time or seems like the battery is dead. If the charge light does not go on when plugged in, you will need to bring it to the Cove to be fixed.
If the screen is black but the side power light is on, try pressing the power button for 20 seconds until the light goes out. Then press it again to turn the Chromebook back on.
Still not turning on? Come to the Cove for help.
Printing is disabled on District-managed Chromebooks.
If you need to print while on campus, print stations are available in the Cove. If you have a printer at home, you can login to your google drive on another device that is connected to your home printer.
