Welcome to Spanish 2! You are about to embark on a journey into the language and culture of the Spanish-speaking world. This course develops Spanish language acquisition through listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It covers basic Spanish pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar. It also explores the history, geography, and customs of the Spanish-speaking world. This course (2 quarters) is designed for students with novice knowledge of the Spanish language. The prerequisites for this course are SPAN 1 with a C or better.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
Demonstrate a minimum novice-high speaking proficiency level according to the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Proficiency guidelines.
Demonstrate a minimum novice-high writing proficiency level according to the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Proficiency guidelines.
Demonstrate a minimum novice-high reading proficiency level according to the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Proficiency guidelines.
