I was born and raised in the Washington D.C. area. I attended college at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. After earning a degree in Communications and a minor in Italian Studies, I took a gap year and traveled around the world. While on my journey I volunteered as a teacher in Nepal and fell in love with education. After I returned from my adventure abroad I decided to move to San Diego and pursue a career in education.
I have spent the last 11 years working as an educator in the San Diego area. I spent three years working at The Winston School in Del Mar teaching everything from Math, U.S. Government, World History, English 10, Life Sciences and Economics. After my time at The Winston School, I took a job at High Tech High as an education specialist. During my four years at High Tech High, I earned my teaching credential with their credentialing program. I am entering my fourth year at Torrey Pines High School where I have taught academic support classes, English 9, English 11, U.S. and World History.
Over the past 11 years I have also worked as a coach in various sports. I am currently the head Varsity boys basketball coach at University City High School and have coached basketball for the past 10 years. I was also the head Varsity boys lacrosse coach at Point Loma High School for eight seasons.
In my personal time, I enjoy cooking, watching sports and going to the beach with my wife and dog. I love working at Torrey Pines High School. Go Falcons!
