Our Designated ELD classes ensure that students meet CA ELD standards as well as grade level Common Core State Standards in English Language Arts. Students take ELD AND their grade level ELA course, with the exception of our Newcomer students, who receive a double block of Designated ELD.

Our Integrated ELD classes allow students to access content-area grade level standards through the use of Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE). All teachers of English learners at LCC are required to have an English Learner Authorization.
