Ciao! My time in Florence has been nothing less than amazing each day. From being able to live in a culture that has so much history and holds true to old traditions is truly astonishing. Each day brought about new experiences through food, street art, culture, and architecture! I never want to leave!
The architecture throughout Italy was beautiful! Being able to see so many beautiful churches and other buildings was truly magical. Not only were these buildings beautiful from the outside, their interiors were decorated from floor to ceiling with beautiful marbles and amazing paintings that filled the walls and especially the ceilings which almost made you feel like you were on your way to heaven! It was truly an incredible experience to be able to live in a place where you were surrounded by so much beauty each and every day!
Being able to live in Florence for six weeks was incredible! I felt that I really got the chance to immerse myself in the culture and to know my way around Florence! I loved how much Florence held onto its history and treasured such beautiful works such as The David! With so much history around theres no question as to why there are so many museums and beautiful churches to visit!
Not only is the architecture and art beautiful to enjoy, but the food is wonderful! There were so many restaurants in Florence that it was impossible to try them all! From pizzas to pastas to the Florentine steak, all of the food was so good! Not only do you get a feel of Florence's history and tradition through the architecture and artwork, but a lot of the history and tradition can be seen through the food in which the recipes have been passed down through generation to generation!
One part of Florence that I really enjoyed was all of the street art that Florence had to offer. My roommates and I almost made it a little scavenger hunt every day to find all of Blub's underwater paintings and Chet's street sign art that could be seen scattered throughout the city! My roommate Lindsay and I even found some of Blub's artwork in the streets of Lucca in which we were overfilled with joy to find!
Another part of Italy that is really nice is that the transportation system makes it very easy to get around. My roommates and I ventured to places such as Cinque Terre, Lucca, Pisa, Siena, Orvieto, Chiusi, Fiesole, and many more places by bus or by train. Being able to travel around was truly a blessing since we got to see more of what beautiful Italy has to offer!
