I am a professor in the Department of Linguistics and Asian/Middle Eastern Languages at San Diego State University and director of the SDSU Language Processing Lab. My research examines grammatical processing in monolingual and bilingual speakers of Spanish and English using online methods such as eye tracking and self-paced reading. The overarching question addressed in my research is this: Do bilinguals make use of the same cues to meaning that monolinguals do during real-time sentence comprehension? My current work focuses on morphosyntactic processing in heritage Spanish speakers.
