The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships provides information and counseling so that you can make informed choices as you and your family plan for meeting the costs associated with attending San Diego State University. We also provide outreach and access services in collaboration with other university departments and the community.
Our knowledgeable counseling staff can assist as you complete the application process for scholarships, grants, work study and loans. We use technology to enhance our service, enabling 24 hour access to AidLink, a secure database with information specific to you about your financial aid and scholarship applications.

The application portal, “Aztec Scholarships,” allows students to apply for university scholarships via one application. The application process for students is simple and fast. Based on university and application data, Aztec Scholarships automatically filters eligible applications and sends them to SDSU scholarship committees for award consideration.
Once you receive a scholarship, don't forget to send a thank you letter! You have 14 days after the scholarship is awarded to send your letter!
One of the most stressful parts of college can be completing the Federal Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is a form completed by current and prospective college students in the United States to determine their eligibility for student financial aid. The FAFSA should not be confused with the CSS Profile, which is also required by some colleges. The Financial Aid office is able to help with any and all questions regarding the application process as well deadlines.
Learn about your eligibility for certain student financial aid benefits through the California Dream Act, and about an exemption from paying nonresident tuition. The California Dream Act allows children who were brought into the US under the age of 16 (without proper visas/immigration documentation) to apply for certain student financial aid benefits.
DACA is a federal status that gives 2 years of deferred action to certain individuals who are not in lawful immigration status and who entered the United States as minors.
DACA students may apply for scholarships that do not have residency or citizenship requirements.

Middle Class Scholarships
The Middle Class Scholarship is available to undergraduate California residents who attend a California State University and have a family income up to $177,000.
