Response to Instruction and Intervention (RtII) is a framework that integrates assessment and intervention within a multi-tiered prevention system to maximize student achievement. With RtII, we use universal screeners and other data to identify students at risk, monitor student progress, provide targeted interventions and adjust the intensity and nature of those interventions depending on a student's responsiveness to instruction. At Enfield, P.A.W.S. Time (Period to Add Winning Strategies) is a time to provide targeted instruction for students. P.A.W.S. Time occurs three days a week for a half hour each period. Classroom teachers and the RtII team meet regularly to review student data and make changes in P.A.W.S. groups based on current student data.
