I joined the Erdenheim Elementary teaching staff in 2011 and I am thrilled to be here! The 2025-2026 school year is my fourteenth year here. I have over twenty years of teaching experience in urban and suburban schools, including teaching in Philadelphia and Lower Merion School Districts. I graduated from Rider University with a B.A. in Education and dual majored in Elementary Education and Art. I also received my M.A. In Education from Gratz College, focusing on curriculum and instruction. I completed my Master's+30, taking many courses in special education and technology. In the Spring of 2020 I finished courses at Immaculata University for a certificate endorsement in Literacy Coaching, so as you can see, I LOVE to learn!
I have known since fifth grade that I wanted to be a teacher. Teaching and learning are infused with who I am. I bring compassion and kindness to Erdenheim students. I focus on how the students learn best, which leads to joy in discovery and higher achievement. I encourage critical thinking skills and student-generated ideas with the goal of developing students' passion for knowledge so they become self-directed, life-long learners.
I live in Flourtown with my husband Gary and we are officially "empty nesters." My youngest son Gabe attended Springfield High School and graduated fromTemple! My older son Noah graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and works for McMaster-Carr and lives in Philadelphia. I like all kinds of plants and flowers, which is why I have flower decor around my classroom! I also love to read, take pictures and do puzzles! I enjoy traveling with my family and our favorite place to be is Lake Wallenpaupack where I grew up going most of my life. We've been to 11 states together and my favorite and most special trips were to Sedona, AZ and Portugal. Each summer we try to go somewhere we haven't been yet. This summer my husband and I did a European river cruise! Where do you think we should go next summer?!
