A Parent's Guide to Gifted Children
Initial consideration for Advanced Learner services usually come from grade level data team meetings or the classroom teacher, who has in-depth knowledge and understanding of a student’s abilities. However, SDoJ values our parents' knowledge about their child and may refer students for identification using the Advanced Learner Referral Form.
Parent referal form information
The parent referral form is only if a student has not been in Advanced Learning programming, and a parent would like to make a referral after they have talked with the classroom teacher and Advanced Learning Coordinator.
