Take the CAPE Test if you do not have the required 48 college units for employment and start work today as an instructional assistant/paraprofessional
Information about the CAPE Test:
A passing score on the test is 70%. The system will show your score as soon as you finish this online test.
You can take the test as many times as you would like. Additionally, you can take the test again immediately if needed.
The test is only offered digitally, i.e., from a computer.
San Diego Unified School District has the "link" to the test. A person who takes the test clicks the "link" provided by SDUSD in an email (if you put in an SDUSD application). The job applicant clicks that link and takes the test as many times as needed until a score of 70% is reached. Upon reaching 70% SDUSD is given notification that the applicant passed the CAPE test.
Getting a score on the CAPE test is part of the application and a first step toward working at SDUSD. (This means applicants do not have to know the exact position they want or apply for before starting their application and taking this test.)
SDUSD is the only "administrator" of this test in San Diego, hence outside agencies require applicants to pay a fee to take the test.
