In a woodland forest, a small, overlooked decomposer starts to settle down to eat on what appears to be an unfortunate dear. Maggots, devourers of carcasses, feast on ,usually, dead hosts. They can slip through open wounds on an organism and start to feed on decaying tissues. (Myiasis is also an infection of fly larva that can occur in a human's tissue.) The short-lived source of nutrients is perfect for the maggots to consume. This harms the carcass and benefits the maggots, showing a great definition for the symbiotic relationship known as parasitism.
