Course Overview
Arkansas K-12 Science Standards, page 8: "The Arkansas K-12 Science Standards for Grades 5-8 is a curriculum framework of grade level student performance expectations based on the core ideas of the physical sciences (PS), life sciences (LS), earth and space sciences (ESS), and engineering (ETS) from A Framework for K-12 Science Education (NRC 2012). The performance expectations build logically from Grades K-4 to Grades 5-8. The performance expectations clarify what students need to know and be able to do at the end of each grade. Student performance expectations consist of three dimensions: science and engineering practices, disciplinary core ideas, and crosscutting concepts. Engineering performance expectations are meant to be integrated into science instruction to support the learning of science phenomena at all levels from Kindergarten to Grade 12."
There are 5 units and the Evidence Statements are the guides for adding depth and rigor.

Comparison of CCRS, SEPs, and PLD this tool aligns the College and Career Readiness Standards with the Science and Engineering Practices and the Aspire Performance Level Descriptors.
Performance Level Descriptors This document was released in the ACT Aspire Technical Bulletin informing educators what was expected from students in order to perform at each level.
Types of Data Presentations Used in the Performance Level Descriptors This is the companion tool to the Comparison of CCRS, SEPs, and PLDs. This identifies how the information should be presented and assessed.
