STEAM 6th, 7th, 8th Grade: Syllabus
Teacher: Mrs. Remez Room: STEAM Lab
Class Overview:
The STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) class uses a program called FUSE which was developed by Northwestern University. The philosophy behind STEAM is that students watch a series of step by step videos to independently learn different software programs. My role is as a facilitator, with the students becoming the experts in the challenges. Other students look to these experts or the videos for help rather than me giving them answers. For some students, this is a different kind of learning, and it is ok to struggle at first.
Class Content:
Students will complete between 4-5 projects that incorporate the STEAM topics.

Grading
STEAM is project based. Most projects are worth 50 pts each. Deadlines will be given for each portion or level of a project, and it is expected that it is turned in on time. Due to the length of time given to work in class, late projects will not be accepted after the end of the project.
