Mrs. Sevova and Ms. Jovanovic are so excited to have you in Math class this year! We are very excited to start an amazing new year with you in math!  We will work together to make sure you have the best opportunities to make this year great. Please remember that we are here to help you master the Common Core State Standards and be ready for 8th grade math and beyond!

Self-Paced Curriculum:

This year, with the implementation of iPads, we will be having a self-paced math curriculum.  Students will be given a pre-test at the beginning of each unit to determine their current level of understanding on that topic.  They will then be placed according to their needs, either individually or in small groups, and given a starting point in the curriculum.  They will then be working through the rest of the tasks in the unit.  To assist them with the tasks, they will be provided videos with guided examples and the teacher will be walking around assisting students as needed.  Students will be assessed throughout each unit to ensure they are being successful.  There will be a due date associated with each unit so students will know how much time they have to complete their tasks.  Students will be completing most of the tasks during class; however, they can also complete tasks at home on their computers or tablets at home.
