Meet The Teacher

Hello First Grade Families!  

My name is Cassidy Tennyson and I am thrilled to be your child's first grade teacher this year!

I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio where I lived with my parents & younger sister! I moved to Chicago to attend Loyola University Chicago where I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. I also received my English as a Second Language, Reading, and Learning Behavior Specialist endorsements and am extremely passionate about meeting the needs of every diverse learner in my class. 

I am so excited to be a part of the Middleton Family as a teacher this year! While getting my degree, I was lucky enough to observe in 2nd grade and student teach in third grade at Middleton. This community is so amazing and I feel so welcomed already! 

I love learning about my students unique interests and identities and celebrating them each day in our classroom. I am passionate about forming relationships with my students and their families! I cannot wait to get to know all of you and work as a team to support our students the best we can!

When I am not teaching, I love exploring new coffee shops and bookstores, growing fruits and veggies,  and traveling as much as I can! I live in the city with my roommate who is a fifth grade teacher and love sharing ideas with her.
