First Grade

Our first grade curriculum focuses on building a love of learning and literature. We explores the purpose of libraries and study favorite authors including Mo Willems. We focus on basic literacy skills such as the parts of a book and the differences between fiction and nonfiction. We read fairytales and participate in the Illinois Monarch awards. We also practice our online research skills and learn how to stay safe online.
